Size & Scale Guide

Choosing the right size is one of the most important decisions when buying wall art. Use this guide to find the perfect fit for your space.

General Rules of Thumb

  • Above a sofa: Choose a print or arrangement that spans roughly 2/3 the width of the sofa (typically 40–60 in wide, or 3.5–5 ft).

  • Above a bed: Aim for a print or set that spans roughly 2/3 the width of the headboard (e.g., a single 30 × 40 in or a pair of 18 × 24 in prints).

  • Dining room: A single large statement piece (24 × 36 in, 30 × 40 in, or larger) works well centered above a sideboard or on a feature wall.

  • Hallways & corridors: Vertical formats or a series of smaller prints work best in narrow spaces.

Tips for Gallery Walls

When creating a gallery wall, mix sizes for visual interest. Start with a large anchor piece (such as a 16 × 20 in or 18 × 24 in) and build around it with smaller prints (8 × 10 in or 11 × 14 in). Keep consistent margins between frames (2–3 in is ideal).
